How Do I Get There?
From Garden State Parkway North
If you are coming from the North (heading South), using exit 138 is the easiest exit. North to South on Garden State parkway:
- Take exit #138.
- Go right at light (Kenilworth Blvd or perhaps it is called Galloping Hill, either way, same road)
- Go Left at light, which is WASHINGTON (about a 1/4 mile; Landmark: on your right is the entrance to Schering Plough--huge building.)
- Go Left at Thoreau Terrace (about 3 or 4 streets up; Landmark, Washington Elementary School will be on your right.)
- Go one block: Church is at the corner of Thoreau Terrace and Colonial Avenue
From the New Jersey Turnpike (Route 95)
Stay on the Turnpike until you can get to the Garden State Parkway. If you are North of 138 at this point, then take the directions above. If you are South of 138, follow these directions:
South to North on Garden State Parkway:
- Take exit #139A (Note the "A"; Chestnut Street, Union exit. There is a 139B, so don't miss "A" which comes up first)
- Turn Right onto Chestnut Street (you will have no choice but to go right off 139 A)
- Turn Left onto Colonial Avenue (about 3 blocks; Landmarks: A Shell Station at one corner of Colonial/Chestnut, Boston Mkt. on the other)
- Go 2 Blocks: Church is at the corner of Colonial Avenue and Thoreau Terrace
